Mauro Libi Crestani: What is the vision of your business? Mine is to continue investing in Venezuela

By Mauro Libi Crestani. A young man about asked me.  What the vision of your business?
I replied: "Growing leaders in the grain market to continue investing in Venezuela. In our plant, our facilities, not only in our premium brand of cereal Avelina but in companies related to our sector, we expect to continue our growth, diversify the portfolio and add products to serve our consumers. That is the vision of our business. "

A young man about 24 years old was considering doing business in Venezuela but was afraid to take the risk. Everything changes daily.
It's too risky, he said.

That's when I told him that one of the world's most successful entrepreneurs, Mark Zuckerberg has the following motto: "In a world that is changing really fast, the only strategy where failure is guaranteed is in not taking risks".

When you have a clear vision of the business, take into account that the risks are part of the process, without risk there is no change, the great achievements require taking risks, often very dangerous ones. Our companies have a very clear vision and mission. That is why we are committed to the country and to our growth in the market. We are confident that with our plan of operations, we will gain an increasing market share of the cereal sector.

In Frimaca, creativity is fundamental. We have teams of professionals trained and motivated to succeed. We know the Venezuelan market very well and internationally we have taken our products to countries such as Dominican Republic, Panama and Colombia. Every movement, every action that involves risk involves intelligent and sagacious thought and planning so you can rest assured that we are prepared to compete and come out on top. We will continue preparing to conquer the challenges and adversity of globalization while taking our stand as the absolute best.

Mauro Libi Crestani: How do you define success?

By Mauro Libi Crestani. For some, success may be to build a sustainable business. For others, it means finding more time to spend with your loved ones. It may be graduating from a university or becoming a recognized artist or an athlete who breaks the records of time.

No matter what your goals, there is a key that will help you achieve it: Creating habits.

If you have had success in anything, you know that meant a lot of work behind the final result.

Athletes like Michael Phelps or Rafael Nadal may be physically gifted, but did not become one of the largest in the world without thousands of hours of practice. Mark Zuckerberg built one of the most successful companies in the world - by establishing practices that have guided him along the way.

Habits are vital for success, habits become routine. The value of cultivating good habits makes people succeed in what they are able to discipline themselves.

One reason why many are unproductive and postpone the matter is that they are waiting to feel like doing a task. If we are waiting to feel "desire" to make a cold call or write the proposal spend our lives waiting. Usually that feeling of wanting never comes - unless and until it - has an important consequence.

The way to pass the action is expected to create habits. Habits are just things you do not even have to think about. The less time we spend wasting time, energy and effort into making the most unproductive thinking. It is useless to think about doing something when you could be spending your time actually doing something. We must use our energy doing the things that matter.

As already shown habits become routine. The routine increases efficiency and makes it easier to keep up with difficult or undesirable tasks.

Experts say that the habits that bring better results are:

Establishing an exercise routine
Reading something of value every night before bed
Arrive early for appointments
Get up early (early enough to have a decent breakfast and take your time, instead of running out the door)
Setting aside time each week to reflect on the lessons learned
Praising his team or colleagues immediately for achievements
Listen carefully to criticism before dismissing as flawed
The wait before responding to an email to antagonize
Leaving work at the same time every day
Think before speak
Of course, motivation is needed to start construction habits. But once it is established, motivation is not a problem.

Strong habits become automatic.

A word of caution.
As good habits can lead to success, bad habits can be disastrous. And while experts agree that the time it takes to build and break free from habits vary due to many factors, it takes much longer to get rid of a habit than to build a new one.

But that does not mean it's impossible to change bad habits, just takes longer to remove them.

The implementation
Reaching a goal requires hard work and perseverance. But no matter where you are trying to go, right habits will help you get the place you want to reach.

Discover the habits that lead to your destination, and get going by Mauro Libi Crestani.

"Life is hard at times. But when I overcome more challenges, I become much stronger then. So I’m going to embrace them.”

By Mauro Libi Crestani.

Life can be hard, sometimes real hard. Life being hard is not necessarily a bad thing. It actually may be a very good thing.  Colin Powell said,A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.

Why would we ever expect life to be easy? Blame it on Disney. Disney is a company that shows us a fantasy, it shows a life of perfection, where we will be in a fairy tale and every story has a happily ever after ending. Walt Disney created more than 81 feature films and hundreds of shorts. He earned more than 950 honors, including 48 Academy Awards. He founded the California Institute of the Arts. And he built Disneyland. Many of us have come to expect that life should be that care free, that with the slightest amount of failure or tragedy happening, we are ready to call it quits. Many of us feel like our lives are a failure, that things are not working out, that we wish we could be more successful.

But let’s remember, that the founder of Disney, Mr. Walt Disney did not have a fairy tale beginning to his career. Early in his working career Walt Disney got fired from a local newspaper for not being creative enough. His editor felt he "lacked imagination and had no good ideas."  That wasn't the last of his failures. Disney then acquired Laugh-O-Gram, an animation studio he later drove into bankruptcy.

So if you have lost your job, have no money, been told by others that you have no talent. Sure getting kicked to the curb by your employer can certainly be demoralizing. You need to stay positive. What may initially feel like failure may just be the launching pad needed for success. For all the academy awards that Walt Disney won and all the money that he made, For all his success came from difficult challenges—even failures. And, yet, from hard times came important lessons and events, which would serve him later. Walt's life was filled with such events. Painful, difficult moments. But out of them he grew and in many ways succeeded.

Now, do not misunderstand…. A positive attitude is not everything…… if you are not the very best at what you do, chances are that you will fail. So get that training and education needed to be the very best. Legend has it that Walt Disney was such a perfectionist. Everything that he did had to be the very best. When Disney put on a display at the New York World’s fair in the 1960’s, he used robots. Nobody used robots back then. Everyone expected a mechanical man that did not do much, but Disney insisted that the robots have movable parts. This was something that no one thought was possible. That is an example of how he wanted to project an image of the very best.

So it is important to be the very best in your field and most important , it is to have a positive attitude. Remember, having a positive is not everything, but if you do not have a positive  attitude, then you will be nothing. By Mauro Libi Crestani.

Mauro Libi Crestani: ‘‘I believe you can be a great one in business if you believe in yourself

By Mauro Libi Crestani. Following high school, Ziglar served in the Navy during World War II and later attended the University of South Carolina. His life took a turn when he left school to pursue a sales career, hoping to earn a better living for his family. For two years, Ziglar struggled for financial survival. He was not able to make a living and was all about to resign himself to the fact that he would forever live a life of poverty.

Then his boss, a Mr. Merrill had a few words with him that would change his life.   Mr. Merrill had a cookware company and Ziglar was a salesman working for him. I am going to quote part of this story from a book called ‘Life at the Top’ written years latter by Zig Ziglar.

Mr. Merrill: “ I have never  seen such a waste of time and effort”
Ziglar remembers. “Well, that was kind of a shock.
But I asked, ‘What do you mean?’
He said, ‘‘I believe you can be a great one in this business if you would just believe in yourself, work on learning more, doing better and helping other people.’

Now, Mr. Merrill’s company had 7000 salespeople. Ziglar went from being one of the worst salespeople to the number two salesperson within a matter of weeks and then took a job with another company of was their number one salesperson. Merrell didn’t wave a magic wand over Ziglar that fateful day, but until that point, Ziglar viewed himself as a little guy from a little town. Merrell saw him as a potential champion. Merrell’s words were the key that allowed Ziglar to unlock the potential within. The key was belief. Now Mr. Merrill’s words was taken to heart by Ziglar but still as with anyone that tries a new and changing attitude, it was not easy and Ziglar still had his doubts that he would ever be anything more than just a little guy from a little town.

That was when he read Dr. Norman Vincent Peale’s book,  The Power of Positive Thinking. Dr. Peale helped me identify the real source of my problems. Needless to say, it was me.  Ziglar learned that he was the only thing standing between himself and his success. The way he saw himself, the way he saw others and what he believed about himself and others could either propel his success or inhibit it.

Zig Ziglar was to go on to become the most famous and successful motivational speaker in modern times. For the last fifty years of his life he was to give countless success seminars and workshops and wrote over twenty four books. His seminars stressed one main point. You could unlock your true potential if you just believed in yourself.

Positive attitude goes even a step further than just having belief in yourself. It changes who you are. When you encourage others to feel better about themselves and you encourage them to be more positive, then you will actually gain more out of that encouragement than they will get from your words.

“So many times people have responded so well. When you encourage others, you in the process are encouraged because you’re making a commitment and difference in that person’s life. Encouragement really does make a difference.” “Help other people do the right thing, tutor them if it’s possible and practical, but always encourage them. Encouragement is the fuel on which success thrives.” By Mauro Libi Crestani.

Mauro Libi Crestani: What to do when your employees are actively "disconnected"?

By Mauro Libi Crestani. All major market surveys make it clear that at present, most  employees are producing less than they are capable of producing, so productivity levels of companies have declined alarmingly. Indeed, Gallup found that 71% of all employees are either "not engaged" or "actively disengaged" companies. Against this complicated scenario, employers must act and implement methods to reverse the numbers and connect the workforce to their responsibilities in organizations.

Research indicates that companies should act when they see their employees do not feel committed to their workplace. HR departments handled a number of tools to reconnect workers subirles commitment, morale and increase their performance. It also has rules to prevent employees from falling into the temptation of the many distractions that abound in the workplace.

Once companies recognize that employees are disabled (usually have dull countenance, drowsy, distracted, with beady eyes) must proceed to communicate with those employees and explain that their inactive attitude represents a high cost for the company, why should change or withdraw.

According Terri Kabachnick in his book I Quit, some of the most common causes of labor decoupling are lack of information, lack of purpose of work and lack of respect. To re-engage their employees or prevent disengagement during its slowdown in business, the business leader must establish efficient communication policies.
Workers must be kept informed, information management and optimal communication has a impact on your mood and motivation.

After studying communication patterns in dozens of organizations, Tamotsu Shibutani concluded: "It is better to keep informed their work tables, to avoid losing them."

If you want an engaged workforce, then you must instill a sense of purpose of employment. It is almost impossible for employees to spend five or 10 years in a job and feel good about themselves. Many believe that their jobs are a colossal waste of time.

Employees need to know more than it involves work. A portion of the address is to ensure that their workers go on every day to the company with the feeling that they are working on something very important.

To build a culture of employees "engaged" we must show the workers that their jobs have a purpose that only they can fulfill.

That's why an effective strategy of attributing productivity is directly related to the employee a responsibility to their superior. If an employee feels  that their work is important or essential he or she will be fully committed to their jobs.

It is advisable to show their respect, treating each employee as an individual. Get to know the strengths and weaknesses and preferences of each person. He calls each person by name and make you feel that your work is appreciated by the company. These small changes will change the attitude of the employees and connect with productivity goals of the company. By Mauro Libi Crestani.

Mauro Libi Crestani: Positive thinking helps solve problems

By Mauro Libi Crestani. Some readers have asked me if all successful business leaders have always been icons of positive thinking. My opinion is that many of them have, but there are others who approached their career goals with an attitude of "I can do it."

So is the power of positive thinking  the key to success?

I refer to research by Barbara Fredrickson, a professor of psychology who has written extensively about positivity. That research and have played in other entries in this blog. Fredrickson found that those with positive thoughts have a greater ability to take into account new information. Positive thinking perspective and improves the ability to "connect the dots", which allows optimistic people to cope with the problems and obstacles with a different attitude that usually allows them to win.

The reality is that positive thinkers have more energy. If you see things in a positive or negative way, this personality trait called dispositional effect. Scientists have concluded that the dispositional positive effect on people creates more energy and enthusiasm than negative.

Positivity build resilience

Very few entrepreneurs reach success with your first idea or business project. Often there are many failures and errors behind a thriving business. The good news is that studies have shown that positivity can help you become stronger. Fredrickson states that "... positive emotions help speed recovery from negative emotions," even he says that positive thinking can be self-generating.

Positive thinking improves decision-making

It is logical that if you're in a negative mood, it is less likely to make decisions that can have a positive impact. This is highlighted in the book: Understanding the entrepreneurial mind, which states that "negative thinking entrepreneurs results in a negative mood that could lead them to make decisions affecting the production capacity of the company."

Positivity is contagious ... Even in the workplace

The same book also highlights that employers with a positive attitude who have direct contact with customers are more likely to persuade them to try a new product. This is because positivity is contagious.

Some say it is because the act of being positive toward another person releases the chemical oxytocin in the blood of the recipient and others say that it is our 'mirror neurons' cause actions to replicate those who interact with us. In the case of the latter, it is worth remembering that if you are a leader or team manager this also means that words and actions can be negative as infectious as well.

Positive thinking is nothing without positive action

Research published in a book published in 2014 by Gabriele Oettingen, ensures that only think positively about the possible positive results is not enough to make the dream come true or desired, it is necessary for the realization of positive action, which produces a power conditioning.

In other words, positive thinking (or dreaming) alone will be ineffective if conscious action does not occur.

Mauro Libi Crestani: Find the solution minimizing the problem

By Mauro Libi Crestani. Some years ago I met Manuel, an electrician one day I arranged a wiring problem at home. Talkative, I talked to him about his projects, and he told me he had started his own company, but abandoned the idea after a while, because things had not gone as he had imagined it. So, he said he made a mistake that shattered his dream of being an entrepreneur, and that is why he has since made his living working for others. Regretfully he told me that success was not made for him, and he had forgotten how to be financially independent.

Manuel repeated to me several times that everything went wrong. It always was the same. Every time something good happened to him, for some reason he still felt that his whole life was becoming a disaster, because this too would go wrong and become a failure. I remember inviting Manuel for coffee after repairs and I would emphasize that the problem was not life nor bad luck but his pessimistic thinking. Manuel had learned to see things from a negative approach, which led him to develop an ineffective behavior, which he surrendered to so easily.

I told Manuel that there were many people like him, who would distort reality. To them everything that happened  becomes a problem or difficulty ending in catastrophe. I spoke of the importance of optimism to grow and increase the chances of success.

Manuel replied telling me that for years had heard that optimists were beings who denied the reality, wrapped in a bubble that did not allow them to give importance to things not to worry.
That day my friend understood the importance of developing a thought process that allows self-confidence and even though things did not go well, if you work hard you can get opportunities for improvement.

Optimistic people create the ability to face adversity, learn about getting the obstacles, mistakes and do not give up, never give up.

The Optimist facing the problem, minimizes the impact on his life and is dedicated to solving, to seek a solution. Optimists are persistent and keep their actions towards their goals, despite the difficulties they may face, considering them only as temporary setbacks or problems that may perhaps delay the achievement of its objective but not prevent it.

Optimistic people increase their level of achievement and create benefits in their quality of life and in your endeavors. Optimism can be developed internally by changing the negativity positive thinking, raising the self-esteem and spiritual strength, learning to persist in achieving their goals and working hard to achieve them.

After several years, with Manuel’s new understanding and with his reconsidered thinking, his life has changed. Today he owns his own company, has 25 employees working for him. When he comes to my home or office, it is not only to solve the electrical problems but to talk about his exciting new plans and projects. Manuel, today is an optimistic and successful man. Mauro Libi Crestani: The alarming increase of job stress

By Mauro Libi Crestani. Every day we are seeing an increase in stress levels. Physical and mental health of employees is extremely important for companies.  Actions are needed to reduce the anxiety of staff who feel affected by the pressures.

Definitely stress has become one of the evils of the century and while not considered a disease, its consequences can affect the health of the person.

Many studies have concluded that a stressed or depressed person has a better chance of getting a disease because their immune system is weakened. Depressed mood and stress down the body's defenses and the person who has it becomes weak.

There are two types of stress experts say: The so-called acute stress is a response to an imminent danger, loading the system with powerful hormones that can damage the cardiovascular system immediately.

Chronic stress caused by intense emotional pressure, the victim can not control, produces hormones that can depress the immune system and damage the bone.

This increases the risk of muscle skeletal injuries, some loss of bone mass, damage to the cardiovascular system causing damage to the arteries, removal of reproductive system and memory problems.

Physical symptoms can include headache, back pain, fatigue, sweating, gastritis, depression, anxiety, insomnia, indigestion, skin disorders, sexual dysfunction, increased heart rate, diarrhea or constipation, etc. Among the sociological symptoms can be observed when a person forgets everything, you feel tired, altered, relationships with other people begin to fail, it fights with everyone.

When a person is faced with a stressful situation sleep it is the first thing that is lost (insomnia), has nightmares, increased appetite or else you are not hungry.

A person exposed to constant stress situations have much chance of developing high blood pressure problems.

People suffering from chronic stress should see a doctor for treatment, meanwhile you should start activities such as meditation, relaxation exercises and yoga to achieve symptom relief steadily.

When employees suffer from stress, the company has problems and low productivity. It's time to address the problem. By Mauro Libi Crestani
